Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to be Released: What We Know

Introduction

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the next big thing for fans of the iconic film series to enjoy. The game developed by Respawn Entertainment features the involvement of Electronic Arts for the last time. With it releasing in a matter of hours, let us take a look at what we know so far about the next chapter in Cal Kestis’ journey.

Intended Audience

According to rumours, the game is not going to be overly violent and features mild language, which means it should be okay for 13-year-olds to play. The ESRB rating is set to drop soon to confirm this.

Also, if you are not familiar with the Star Wars film series, or have not played any of the previous games from the franchise, following the plot will not be a problem as this game is meant to be a stand alone game designed for any combat gaming enthusiast.

Gameplay

If the teaser released in May was anything to go by, the latest instalment of Star Wars gaming franchise has some killer visuals. As with the 2019 instalment, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, combat in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be focused on lightsaber combat and the use of Force powers. Based on the word that has spread in the gaming community, the game should feature:

  1. A variety of combat techniques, including parrying, dodging, and using different lightsaber stances
  2. A skill tree system, allowing players to upgrade their abilities and tailor their playstyle to their preferences
  3. According to Design Director Jeff Magers, the planet Koboh serves as a second home to players in the game, and as they revisit it, they will discover new routes
  4. Through exploration of these worlds, players can personalise their character, Cal
  5. Additionally, many of the non-essential locations in the game offer valuable enhancements that will aid Cal in overcoming upcoming obstacles

Puzzle-solving will also be an important part of the gameplay in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Players will need to use their wits and the Force to solve puzzles and uncover hidden secrets in the environment. These puzzles will range from simple environmental puzzles to more complex challenges that require the use of different Force powers.

Graphics and Sound

The game is being developed using the Unreal Engine 4, and is expected to deliver stunning visuals and game physics based on what the early access gameplay has shown. Though there have been some complaints about the frame rates dropping in 4K resolution, EA is expected to deploy patches on release day that address these concerns for PC users, as well as those with the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles. For now though, customers of Gamescard especially will have to be content with the cheap PS5 games we have available.m,k

The sound design in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will feature a new original score composed by Gordy Haab, who also composed the music for several other Star Wars titles. The sound FX will also be top-notch, with the iconic sounds of lightsabers and combat recreated in high fidelity.

The Bottom Line

With its incorporation of generation 9 console capabilities, improved combat, and puzzle-solving, the game is sure to offer a varied and engaging gameplay experience. The stunning graphics will transport players to a new world, and the story of a young Padawan surviving in a post-Order 66 galaxy is sure to be compelling. Whether or not the game features multiplayer is yet to be known, but Star Wars fans will know soon enough.
