Description

Gran Turismo Sport on PS4 was designed as the competitive online entry in the series, but it also contains a substantial offline package. With the online servers now closed, that offline content is what you get, and it remains a polished, good-looking racing game.

About the game

The campaign is split into driving school lessons that build your skills step by step, mission challenges with specific goals and circuit experiences that teach each track sector by sector. GT League adds a long list of offline race series across different car classes, from small road cars to prototype racers. The handling model is precise and rewards smooth driving, and the game looks excellent for its age, with detailed cars and a well-regarded photo mode called Scapes. The car list is smaller than in Gran Turismo 7 but still covers a wide range of manufacturers and racing categories. Since the servers were shut down in early 2024, online races, livery sharing and online saving are no longer available, and progress is stored locally on the console.

Key features

  • Realistic handling with support for popular steering wheels.
  • Driving school, missions and circuit experiences for skill building.
  • GT League offline championships across many car classes.
  • Detailed car models and a strong photo mode.
  • Split-screen two-player racing on one console.

Who is it for

Gran Turismo Sport suits players who want a realistic racing game for offline practice and single-player events at a low cost. It is a good starting point before Gran Turismo 7 and works well for local split-screen play with a friend.
