Helldivers 2 on PS5 is a third-person co-op shooter about defending Super Earth from alien threats with as much firepower as possible. Up to four players drop onto a planet, complete objectives, and try to reach the extraction point alive, often while their own airstrikes land far too close.
About the game
Every mission takes place on a large open map with primary objectives, optional side goals and plenty of hostile wildlife. The core of the game is the stratagem system: you enter short button combinations to call down support weapons, turrets, vehicles, orbital bombardments and reinforcements from your ship in orbit. Friendly fire is always on, so coordination matters and accidents are frequent and funny. The enemies include swarming insects called Terminids and heavily armed Automatons, each requiring different tactics and loadouts. All players contribute to a shared galactic war that unfolds in real time, with the community winning or losing planets together. Difficulty scales from casual to brutal, and new weapons, armour and stratagems are unlocked through play.
